The band addressed fan requests for the remaster in their official statement.
“You asked, and now the time has finally arrived! Remastered Reissues of ‘Practice What You Preach’ coming May 8th 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records,” Testament announced.
Vocalist Chuck Billy expressed his enthusiasm about the project. He highlighted the improvements made to the classic album.

The remastered edition will feature enhanced audio quality and new artwork. This gives fans an updated version of the thrash metal classic.
This reissue marks a significant milestone for Testament. The original 1989 album holds special importance in the band’s catalog and thrash metal history.
Blabbermouth reported that the original ‘Practice What You Preach’ achieved near-gold status in the United States. It was Testament’s first album to enter the Billboard 200 Top 100. The album’s commercial success helped establish Testament as one of the leading forces in the thrash metal scene during the late 1980s.
The remastering process has been handled with meticulous care to preserve the album’s original character while enhancing its sonic qualities. Sonic Perspectives noted that the ‘Practice What You Preach (2026 Remaster)’ was remastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound. This ensures professional-grade audio enhancement for the classic thrash metal recordings.
The visual presentation of the reissue has also received special attention from the original creative team. Nuclear Blast confirmed that the remastered edition features brand new artwork by Bill Benson, who also designed the original cover. This maintains artistic continuity while offering fans a fresh visual experience.
Fans eager to experience the remastered album can already get a preview of the enhanced sound quality. Lambgoat revealed that a remastered version of the track “Envy Life” is currently streaming. This gives listeners a taste of the improved audio quality they can expect from the full reissue. The release will be available in multiple formats, including digital and limited edition 180-gram vinyl variants.
