Ted Nugent recently refused to acknowledge that people could ‘change their genders’ on Twitter, and if you know even a little about the rocker, you know that tweet is not exactly the surprise element.

The name Nugent is almost synonymous with the word controversy since the rocker loves vocalizing his political ideals and worldview at every chance he gets. He never holds back from criticizing whoever he finds ‘problematic,’ from calling Michael Moore a soulless slob to considering Dolly Parton a devotee of Satan.

His latest target was the transgender community, as Ted tweeted that there was no such thing as ‘transgender’ since people couldn’t change their genders, probably meaning their sex assigned at birth. Still, the singer was quite firm on his stance, daring and challenging anyone he was up to debate, only on the condition that they brought a bib with them into the fight.

Nugent’s words on why transgender individuals couldn’t exist:

“There is no such thing as transgender. You cannot change your gender. Comfortably numb is actually uncomfortably dumb. Debate me but bring your bib.”

While some users backed Ted’s statements, others responded by trying to explain the difference between sex and gender and asked the rocker to be more sensitive toward people’s decisions about their lives and bodies. However, if you want to debate Ted on this controversial matter and think you got what it takes to convince him, you know where to find him.
