Slipknot Icon Clown Addresses His Daughter’s Death And Explains How It’s Changed His Life
Slipknot co-founder and percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan spoke in a recent interview with Mosh Talks With Beez and talked about the passing of his daughter, Gabrielle.
Back in May 2019, Clown’s youngest daughter Gabrielle passed away at the age of 22 because of the overdose, and Shawn announced this devastating news the next day on his social media accounts.
In the conversation, Clown revealed how he felt about losing his daughter and touched upon the fact that he can not describe what he felt after having a loss like that.
Furthermore, Clown mentioned that even though he is a human that could be taught, he said that there is no person who could teach him how to handle this situation. Because of that, he admitted that you took lots of steps backward.
Here is what Clown said:
“When you have a loss like that, you can’t imagine the steps backwards you take and the words that come to mind that you have to take notice to and then take stock to.
And there’s not a single thing anybody in the world’s gonna say that’s gonna change it. Period — end of story. I mean, think about that.
There’s nothing anybody in the world could ever teach me — I’m a human that can be taught — no one can teach me or give me a tool that will make that acceptable, ever. So you take a lot of steps backwards. And when you do that, you notice, ‘Wow. I’ve been abusing my own art.’”
