When asked to share something he had never admitted in an interview before, Terrible offered a candid and unexpected confession.

“I was almost stolen by gypsies when I was three years old,” he said. “I’m a gypsy by the way.”

The interview also touched on a more emotional side of the vocalist. When asked when the last time he cried was, Terrible gave a surprisingly candid answer.

“I cry almost every month or so watching the TV shows or good movies,” he continued.

The exchange offered fans a rare personal glimpse into the life of the frontman beyond his on-stage persona. These candid revelations are consistent with a pattern of openness that Terrible has embraced in recent years, as he continues to expand his public profile well beyond the boundaries of heavy music.

Born Aleksandr Shikolay in Yekaterinburg, Russia, Terrible founded Slaughter to Prevail in 2014. He later relocated to Orlando, Florida, where the band is now based. His rise to prominence began through YouTube vocal covers that earned him a cult following long before the band signed with Sumerian Records. His guttural extreme vocals became his defining trademark. The band has since grown into a global force, boasting over 1.4 million monthly Spotify listeners and headline appearances at some of the world’s biggest festivals.

The band’s momentum has only accelerated in recent times. Their third studio album, Grizzly, was released on July 18, 2025. Terrible has been touring globally to support it, with shows scheduled through October 2026. The album cycle has also seen him push creative boundaries, including performing his first clean vocals on the single “Behelit.” The track is inspired by the dark fantasy manga Berserk and its protagonist Guts — a character Terrible has said he identifies with in terms of determination and hidden vulnerability.

Outside of music, Terrible has made headlines for an entirely different pursuit. At age 32, he entered bare-knuckle fighting through the BKFC, making his fourth appearance at a Blood4Blood event in July 2026 against Cameron Delano. He helped fund the event himself so that other fighters could be paid, refusing to take a personal paycheck for his own bout.

“I have no clean explanation for this choice,” he has said of his fighting career. “It comes from my heart and my love for combat sports, even if my mind has no practical answer.”

The combination of musical ambition, personal transparency, and unconventional life choices has cemented Terrible’s reputation as one of the most distinctive and unpredictable figures in modern heavy music.
