Slaughter to Prevail has announced they will continue with their remaining tour dates using backing tracked drums after their drummer encountered travel delays. The band shared this statement on Instagram.

The band addressed their fans directly about the decision to modify their performance setup for the upcoming shows.

“We would be nothing without our fans. Show cancelations are not something we take lightly at all,” the band said. “As we take your feelings seriously and don’t want to let you down. For the remaining two shows, in Tinley Park, IL and Noblesville, IN, we will perform with backing tracked drums so the concerts can still go ahead. We hope he will rejoin us on Tuesday for the show in Maryland Heights, MO.”

The announcement continued with an acknowledgment of the unusual circumstances.

“While this isn’t the way we envisioned it, we hope you’ll join us and that together we can make these nights unforgettable,” they continued. “Thank you for your understanding and for standing with us.”

This decision follows the band’s earlier announcement about missing shows in Cincinnati, Tinley Park, and Noblesville due to their drummer’s travel complications.

The current situation reflects ongoing challenges that have historically affected the Russian deathcore band’s touring capabilities. Wikipedia reported that Slaughter to Prevail was formed in 2014 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, by British guitarist Jack Simmons alongside frontman Aleksandr “Alex Terrible” Shikolai. Shikolai initially gained recognition through his powerful vocal covers on social media platforms.

Travel and visa restrictions have been recurring obstacles for the band throughout their career. Wikipedia noted that the group was previously unable to participate in the 2017 Summer Slaughter tour due to visa complications. This makes the current drummer’s travel delays part of a familiar pattern of logistical challenges that have impacted their live performances.

Despite these setbacks, the band has maintained significant momentum in the extreme metal scene. Distorted Sound Magazine highlighted that their recent releases, including 2021’s Kostolom and their latest album Grizzly released in July 2025, have solidified their position as one of the leading acts in modern deathcore.

The band has undergone various lineup changes over the years. However, Alex Terrible and Jack Simmons remain the only constant members. Wikipedia documented that Slaughter to Prevail is currently based in Orlando, Florida. This has helped facilitate their North American touring schedule despite the ongoing challenges with international travel logistics.
