The lead singer of Duran Duran, Simon Le Bon, recently joined an interview with Kyle Meredith in which he mentioned some past members who will be part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

In 1978, the keyboardist Nick Rhodes and the bassist John Taylor formed the band. Many line-up changes happened in the following years until the guitarist Andy Taylor and lead vocalist Simon Le Bon joined. They became one of the pioneers of the New Romantic scene in the ’80s.

The band achieved its initial success with the hit song ‘Girls on Film’ from their self-titled debut album. In 1982, the second album titled ‘Rio’ became a breakthrough record reaching number 2 in the United Kingdom and number 1 in Canada and Australia. The next one, ‘Seven and the Ragged Tiger,’ was the band’s only UK number 1 album.

While they continued releasing hit songs and successful albums, several lineup changes occurred. In 1986, Warren Cuccurullo was hired as a session guitarist until 2001, while Andy Taylor and Roger Taylor left the band. Although Andy Taylor rejoined again in 2001, they parted ways in 2006.

Duran Duran, which most recently released its fifteenth studio album ‘Future Past’ in 2021, received many fan votes for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2022. They will also perform in the induction ceremony on November 5, 2022. Simon Le Bon, who expressed his surprise at being inducted, recently gave some news that will make Duran Duran fans very happy.

Le Bon stated that the past members, Warren Cuccurullo and Andy Taylor, will be a part of the ceremony at the Rock Hall. Although it is not certain, Nile Rodgers might join the band for the ceremony, as he said. The vocalist noted that he could not give more information but was excitedly waiting for that day to come.

Simon Le Bon said the following when asked whether they have talked about the Rock Hall:

“We’ve talked about it very little, to be honest with you. We’re hoping to get performances of guitar, performances from Warren Cuccurullo, and Andy Taylor with the band. Maybe Nile will join us; I don’t know. We’re looking at a very big celebrity to do the induction. I can’t say any more about it. But it is very, very exciting! I’m looking forward to it now.”
