Slipknot’s Sid Wilson recently shared his first social media post following news of his breakup with fiancée Kelly Osbourne. He posted a photo that appears to hint at the upcoming release of the band’s long-awaited project on Instagram.
The post featured an image of Slipknot’s “Look Outside Your Window” LP without any accompanying text. This suggests the experimental record’s release may be imminent. The project has been highly anticipated by fans since it was first announced.

“We knew we were heading down a different creative path, entirely apart from Slipknot, and we followed it eagerly,” the band members previously said in a joint statement. “We called the project Look Outside Your Window as a tribute to this experimental spirit.”
The statement provided insight into the creative process behind the mysterious project.
“Created during a chaotic time in our shared history, the songs were born late at night, in a house on a farm in the middle of nowhere,” they continued. “Peering out through a big picture window, we wondered about what, or who, might be lurking outside. That sense of the unknown seeped into the music itself.”
The band described their unconventional approach to creating the album.
“There were no rules; ideas could come from anywhere: subtle drum loops, bits of organ or abstract guitar noise, even samples of frogs or crickets,” they explained. “Guided by emotion and instinct, we let the sounds themselves point the way.”
Wilson’s cryptic post comes at a time when fans are eagerly awaiting any news about the experimental release.
The mysterious album has a complex history that dates back nearly two decades. Metal Injection reported that the album was recorded in 2008 by Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Shawn “Clown” Crahan, and Sid Wilson alongside Slipknot’s All Hope Is Gone.
The project has faced numerous setbacks over the years. Fans have grown increasingly frustrated by the delays. Metal Injection noted that its release has faced repeated delays, promised since 2019, with Jim Root joking he might upload it to YouTube due to Clown’s hesitation.
The lengthy delay has even affected the band members’ memory of the project. The outlet revealed that Root noted he barely remembers its sound after 10+ years, highlighting just how long fans have been waiting for this experimental release.
“I keep telling Clown that I’m just gonna throw it up on YouTube,” Root previously joked about the project’s uncertain future. He expressed his own frustration with the ongoing delays.
Wilson’s recent Instagram post may signal that the band is finally ready to move forward with the release. This gives hope to fans who have been patiently waiting for over a decade to hear this experimental side project from some of Slipknot’s core members.
