Scott Stapp revealed in a recent conversation with Ryan McCredden of I-Rock 93.5 that divine intervention and social media buzz are behind Creed’s surprising reunion and resurgence among fans old and new.

Creed’s journey back to the spotlight began with a series of viral moments on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook starting in late 2020. Stapp mentioned that new, younger fans have found Creed’s music in the 12 years since their last concert, explaining:

“Yeah, a hundred percent. And the analytics don’t lie. We’ve started seeing, in late 2020, Creed beginning to go viral on TikTok, Instagram and then Facebook. And then it just seemed like every two or three months… The first couple months in 2021, we went viral again, and it just kept happening every two or three months.”

A Divine Plan Unfolds

This digital renaissance, according to the frontman, was a clear sign of a higher power at work, aligning with his personal beliefs in God’s plan. He stated:

“I’ve learned in my journey in sobriety and in recovery that… I believe in God, and I believe that God has a plan. And looking at this from a thousand-foot perspective, it just all just seems, to me, without a doubt that God’s had a hand in it. And I’m just grateful that I’m included on the ride, and I’m just not gonna take a moment for granted, and [I’m gonna] try to deliver every night and give the fans what they’re asking for.”

Following a positive reaction from fans to the news of their reunion, Stapp expressed his astonishment and gratitude in a SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk interview. The support from both longstanding and new Creed fans underscored the timeless appeal of the band’s music, fueling Stapp’s belief in the reunion’s significance.

Prospects Of New Music And Tour Expansion

Creed’s official reunion was announced on July 19, 2023, ending years of speculation and setting the stage for a nostalgic return. In anticipation of the reunion, Stapp addressed the possibility of new Creed music in a video shared on Cameo for the podcast Waste Some Time With Average Joe last month, saying:

“As of right now, there is no new music coming from Creed, but I can tell you that there’s definitely been some conversations where insinuations have been made that there may be something there.”

Creed has expanded their 2024 tour, their first in a decade, adding 20 more shows with guests 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven, and Mammoth WVH. Initially planned for July to September, the Are You Ready? Tour now extends from November 2 to December 5, including a performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on November 29.
