Scott Stapp recently discussed Creed’s potential new album and the band’s reunion process during an interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station.

The frontman shared insights about the band’s current approach to creating new music and how their maturity might influence their upcoming work.

‘We’re talking about new record. We’re taking things slow. We’re rebuilding, we’re relearning about each other. We’re reconnecting,’ Stapp said.

He elaborated on how the band members have evolved since their earlier days together.

‘I think this experience has been kind of like a — it’s putting on an old glove, but we’ve all changed. We’re all older, we have kids, we have different responsibilities and priorities in life. And we’re all extremely focused,’ he continued.

Stapp expressed confidence about the quality of their future material. He cited the band’s life experiences and recent performances as factors that will contribute to their next release.

‘And I think that when that day comes when we decide to make a Creed record, I think it’ll be probably, if not on par, better than anything we’ve ever done. Just based upon the life experience that we have, everything we’ve done the last two years of playing together, I think that sets the stage that when it’s the right time, it’s gonna be incredible,’ he said.

Stapp’s optimistic outlook comes after a significant period of rebuilding for the band. The band has experienced both tremendous success and notable challenges throughout its history.

Consequence of Sound reported that Creed made their highly anticipated return to the stage in April 2024 during the Summer of ’99 cruise. This marked their first performance in over a decade since their last show in 2012. The reunion performance took place aboard the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship departing from Miami. It signaled the beginning of their comeback journey.

The band’s return has been met with substantial fan interest. This is evidenced by their extensive touring plans. Pollstar noted that Creed announced a comprehensive 40-date North American reunion tour set to kick off in July 2024. The tour features notable supporting acts including 3 Doors Down and Daughtry. This extensive tour schedule demonstrates the band’s commitment to reconnecting with their fanbase across significant venues throughout the United States.

The reunion represents a major milestone for a band that faced considerable internal struggles in the past. Wikipedia documented that Creed initially disbanded in 2004 due to internal tensions and creative differences among band members. The breakup came after years of commercial success but growing personal conflicts that ultimately made collaboration impossible.

Their current reunion efforts suggest a more mature approach to their musical partnership. The band members now bring decades of additional life experience and individual growth to their collaborative process. The two years of recent performances that Stapp referenced have served as a foundation for rebuilding their musical chemistry and personal relationships.

The band has been performing together over the past two years as they work toward their anticipated comeback album.
