In a recent interview with Billboard News, Greta Van Fleet delved into their upcoming world tour, featuring performances with Metallica in September. While on the topic, the bassist Sam Kiszka mentioned a chat he had with Lars Ulrich. He said:

“You have to have a lot of passion to be able to do something for so long and be so good at it … I’ve talked to Lars [Ulrich] about getting older, and he says, ‘I have to work five times as hard just to get to the level I was at decades ago.'”

Greta Van Fleet supported Metallica for some of their stadium tours in 2022 while they were promoting their ‘The Battle at Garden’s Gate’ album. Kiszka talked about the band again in an interview with Kyle Meredith at the time. Back then, he explained:

“We always want to get up there and perform and create this wild happening, but when we’re with Metallica, you know their shows are pretty big. They’re one of the most substantial bands in the entire world, arguably the most as far as career goes.”

This year, the band’s performances will back up their newest record, ‘Starcatcher,’ which they also spoke of during the Billboard interview. In fact, Jake Kiszka mentioned this album’s sound by saying:

“Now it’s time to revert back to rock ‘n’ roll, and what does this [genre] truly mean for our generation.”

Referring to the band’s future, Danny Wagner added:

“The funny thing is, we’re always moving on to the next. We’re actually about to start the next album as we speak.”
