Robbie Williams thinks Liam Gallagher didn’t know about Oasis ticket prices.
In a recent chat with The Face, the singer was asked about ticket prices for his tour. He said they seemed reasonable. He hinted that the prices might be influenced by both the Oasis ticketing issue and his desire to sell many tickets.
“By the way, I’ve never sat in a ’How much are we pricing the tickets?’ meeting. And I don’t believe that Oasis did either,” Williams commented.
The musician added, “I don’t believe that Oasis knew. Liam definitely didn’t know ’this is how much tickets are going to cost. We’re going to do this thing called dynamic pricing.’ I only know about dynamic pricing because of Oasis.”
Williams thinks the backlash taught the music industry that they can’t overcharge. He noted, “That whole dynamic pricing thing, it even made me go: ’F*ck, I need to be in some sort of meeting.’ Or just go: ’Let’s not have that happen!'”
When Oasis announced their comeback tour, fans rushed to buy tickets, but many were upset by high prices caused by Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing. This pricing policy, introduced in 2022, raises prices based on demand.
Ticketmaster explained that prices can change, similar to how airline and hotel prices work. The policy has caused frustration. This led to a new bill in the UK Parliament in October, calling for more transparency in ticket sales.
In September, Liam spoke about the Oasis ticket issue on X. “OASIS are back your welcome and I hear there ATTITUDE STINKS good to know something’s never change LF*CKING x,” the rocker wrote about the reunion.
“Didn’t expect them to rip the fans off as much as they have done,” one user responded to his post. “It’s genuinely a shame.” Gallagher left a comment to the user, writing, “SHUTUP.”
In the follow-up comments, another fan said, “Everyone saying you both are doing it for the money are out of their minds it’s for the music, the fans, and each other.”
Liam replied by saying, “There’s lots of reasons for doing it family fans music biblical vibrations, and curly wurlys as that’s what I’m getting paid in so all those money rumours are just not true.”
Oasis’ tour will begin in the U.K. and Ireland in July 2025, then head to North America in late August. The band will perform in Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and East Rutherford, New Jersey.
