In a recent Instagram post, Brad Wilk announced Rage Against the Machine’s end to touring and live performances for the third time.
The drummer wrote, addressing a number of canceled dates from the band’s Public Service Announcement reunion tour:
“I know a lot of people are waiting for us to announce new dates for all the canceled RATM shows. I don’t want to string people or myself along any further. So, while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future… I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom, and I) will not be touring or playing live again. I’m sorry for those of you who have been waiting for this to happen. I really wish it was…”
Internal Struggles And Split

Rage, formed in the early 1990s with members Zack de la Rocha, Tim Commerford, Tom Morello, and Brad Wilk, has disbanded before. They quickly gained fame but faced internal conflicts. In 2000, de la Rocha announced his departure, citing a broken decision-making process within the band. The remaining members then created Audioslave with Chris Cornell, which lasted until 2007.
In the same year, the band reunited for a headline performance at Coachella and continued to tour for several years, with their final performance at L.A Rising in 2011. This marked their second split. However, the band wasn’t done yet. In 2020, they announced the Public Service Announcement tour, aiming for a strong comeback.
Setbacks And Cancellations

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic postponed their plans, and when they finally resumed in 2022, de la Rocha suffered a severe Achilles tendon injury on the second date of the tour. Despite completing the first leg, the band had to cancel the remaining shows due to the extent of his injury. The singer wrote the following to the fans at the time:
“I hate canceling shows. I hate disappointing our fans… You have all waited so patiently to see us, and that is never lost on me. I never take that for granted. For you, I have the ultimate gratitude and respect.”
Recently, during their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, only Morello from Rage Against the Machine attended. He mentioned the band often disagrees, even about the induction. He did honor Rage and thanked the fans, calling them the ‘fifth member of the band.’
