Poppy recently shared her thoughts on Spiritbox frontwoman Courtney LaPlante, offering insight into the musician’s personality beyond her stage presence. She discussed this in an interview with Vice.

The two artists collaborated on the track “End Of You,” which brought together members of the new hardcore scene. Despite working remotely during the song’s creation, Poppy has since spent time with LaPlante in person. She reflected on what she discovered about the Spiritbox singer.

“I think she’s really sweet and she is! I didn’t get to spend much time with Courtney in person [during] the process of making the song because it was done remotely. But I have hung out with her a handful of times now, and it’s always a really great time,” Poppy said.

Poppy emphasized her admiration for LaPlante’s grounded nature. This is particularly notable given her role as a band frontperson in the intense hardcore music scene.

“It’s cool to see somebody like that, a fellow front person of a band, be able to have also such a grounded and wholesome outlook in the world that we’re in,” Poppy continued.

The collaboration marks a significant moment in modern metal and hardcore music. It brings together three of the genre’s most prominent female figures in a unified project that has captured widespread attention from fans and critics alike.

Vice reported that the single “End Of You” was released on September 4, 2025, under Sumerian Records. The track features a blend of industrial, electronica, and heavy metalcore elements. It combines the distinct vocal styles of Amy Lee (Evanescence), Poppy’s intense delivery, and Courtney LaPlante’s powerful screams over guitar-driven music produced by Jordan Fish.

Melodic Magazine revealed that the collaboration came together through Jordan Fish’s initial sketch idea. This eventually led to the inclusion of Amy Lee and Courtney LaPlante, combining their unique vocals and star power into one track. The project represents a merging of icons from alternative rock, metalcore, and metalcore/pop crossover genres.

Kerrang highlighted that the accompanying music video depicts a dystopian narrative with a faceless antagonist. It features high production value, further elevating the project’s impact. The visual presentation complements the song’s industrial and heavy aesthetic, creating a complete artistic statement from the three collaborators.

The collaboration has been described as a major event in modern metal. It showcases how female-led heavy music projects continue to push creative boundaries and redefine the landscape of hardcore and metalcore music in 2025.
