Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos recently shared his thoughts on the standout metal albums of 2025. He highlighted two releases that have captured his attention this year. His comments were featured in an interview with Kerrang.

When asked about the best album he’s heard this year, Ramos expressed difficulty in choosing just one favorite. He narrowed it down to two exceptional releases.

“It’s hard to choose a favorite metal album of 2025, so I’ll just say I’m stuck between the new Signs Of The Swarm [To Rid Myself Of Truth] and new Shadow Of Intent [Imperium Delirium],” Ramos said.

The vocalist went on to explain his reasoning behind these selections. He praised both the bands and the specific qualities that make these albums stand out.

“We always love to put-on for our boys, but these two records specifically are absolute heaters,” he continued. “Between the vocal techniques of David [Simonich, Signs Of The Swarm] and Ben [Duerr, Shadow Of Intent], it feels like a no-brainer. These two albums kick ass in more ways than one and are definitely worth the listen.”

Ramos’ endorsement carries significant weight in the deathcore community. This is particularly true given his own band’s prominence in the genre and his recognition for pushing vocal boundaries in extreme metal.

Dead Rhetoric reported that Signs Of The Swarm’s “To Rid Myself Of Truth” was released on August 22, 2025, via Century Media Records. The album represents a continuation of the band’s brutal deathcore sound while incorporating new elements that have garnered critical attention throughout the year.

The album features notable collaborations that add to its appeal within the metal community. Teeth of the Divine noted that the record includes guest appearances from prominent figures in the deathcore scene. This includes Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel on the track “Iron Sacrament,” which adds an extra layer of brutality to the already intense release.

Critics have noted the album’s technical prowess and emotional depth. Sound Link Magazine stated, “To Rid Myself of Truth is more than an album I enjoy. It’s an album I feel connected to. It reminds me that there is beauty in destruction.” This highlights the record’s ability to balance extreme heaviness with meaningful artistic expression.

The recognition from Ramos underscores the album’s impact within the deathcore scene. Both Signs Of The Swarm and Shadow Of Intent have established themselves as leading forces in this space. Metal Planet Music observed that deathcore fans have been particularly enthusiastic about “To Rid Myself Of Truth.” Many consider it one of the genre’s standout releases of 2025.
