Paradise Lost frontman Nick Holmes picked the ten songs that changed his life in a new interview with Metal Hammer and named one certain song that makes him cry. The singer named various songs, most of which were from different subgenres. Naming a track from Vast, he shared why it would make him cry:
“I tried doing a teardrop challenge with my daughter a few years back, where I tried to cry to a piece of music while she stared at me, but inevitably I’d just burst out laughing. I reckon I could do it to ‘Winter In My Heart’ by Vast, though, as it’s a brilliant, sad song. It’s not very well known either; if it’d been done by Radiohead it would have been massive.”
New Music Is Coming Soon

In an earlier interview, the rocker disclosed that the band had initiated work on new material before being temporarily diverted by the summer festival season. Despite the interruption, they have managed to complete ‘a few songs’ and are resolute in their plan to compose an album in the following year.
Having released their latest album by the end of 2023, Holmes also acknowledged the evolution of Paradise Lost’s songwriting process over the years, highlighting the transformative impact of technology on their collaborative efforts:
“It’s just nice to scratch some time for that. So, hopefully, at the beginning of next year, we can have a few months of downtime so we can actually get working more on the album. But we’ve got a few songs done. I think we’ve got a few songs done; we need to review them. So, yeah, we’ll hopefully write an album next year, anyway. Whether it’s gonna be recorded next year, I don’t know, but hopefully at least written.”
