During a new episode of his SiriusXM program Ozzy Speaks, Ozzy Osbourne named the one award he still hopes to win.
The singer said he wants to get an Oscar. When co-host Billy Morrison said he should be in a movie to win an Oscar, the Prince of Darkness replied:
“Well, you asked me what I haven’t won.”
He went on to give another singer as an example:
“Elton John’s got one for a song.”
Osbourne Is Finally A Hall of Famer
Ozzy was recently announced as one of the inductees for the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He shared how it feels to be honored as a solo artist with Billboard:
“[To become one of the Rock Hall’s multiple inductees] feels big. I’m more than honored. Because my solo career, it’s been a much larger part of my overall music career as a whole.”
Osbourne also talked about it coming in fourth in the fan vote:
“[It] feels more special, and I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels that way.”
Previously, the rocker posted another message on X when he found out he was nominated for the class of 2024:
“I’m deeply honored to receive this news from the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. To be one of the few musicians who’s being considered for a second entry, now as a solo artist, is something I could never have imagined. After 44 years as a solo artist, the fact that I can continue to record music and receive this recognition is something I am incredibly proud of.”
Last year, Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, said on The Adam Carolla Show that Ozzy should be inducted into the Rock Hall as a solo artist. She referred to his long career and album sales. The induction event will be on October 19 in Cleveland.
