During a recent episode of Ozzy Speaks, Ozzy Osbourne said he won’t do a full set with Black Sabbath at their ‘Back to the Beginning’ show.
“I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them,” the singer revealed. “I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”
He added, “I am trying to get back on my feet. When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”
In 2022, Ozzy shared that he had been fighting Parkinson’s for nearly 20 years. He gave his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame speech last year while sitting.
“I’d like to thank whoever voted me into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for my solo work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Osbourne said after actor Jack Black presented him with the award.
Last month, it was announced that Black Sabbath’s original lineup will reunite for one last show this summer, their first since ‘The End’ tour in 2017.
“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning… time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever,” Ozzy said in a statement.
The ‘Back to the Beginning’ event will include Ozzy’s final solo performance and a lineup featuring Metallica, Slayer, Gojira, Anthrax, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, and Mastodon. Guests include Billy Corgan, Slash, Duff McKagan, Fred Durst, Jonathan Davis, Wolfgang Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, Zakk Wylde, Jake E. Lee, and more. Tom Morello will be the musical director.
Last week, Billy Morrison released a video for ‘Gods of Rock N Roll,’ featuring Ozzy on vocals. The song is a reworked version of ‘Gods’ from Morrison’s 2015 album ‘God Shaped Hole,’ now with an orchestral arrangement.
