Noel Gallagher Thinks Harry Styles Is Not A Real Songwriter

Oasis’ Noel Gallagher recently gave an interview to Absolute Radio and talked about the famous competition show The X Factor. During the conversation, he revealed that he doesn’t consider Harry Styles a true songwriter who rose to fame through that show.

Harry Styles’ musical career began in 2010 when he was a solo contestant on the famous British music competition series The X Factor. After he got eliminated, he joined the boy band One Direction. Following that, One Direction became among the best-selling boy bands, with millions of fans worldwide.

However, One Direction went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016. Due to that, Harry Styles decided to focus on his solo music career. In 2017, he released his self-titled debut solo record, and it topped the charts immediately after the release. The 28-year-old musician has also contributed to the other artists as a co-writer. As a result of his solo career and tenure with the band, the pop star has countless fans.

One of the people that like the pop star is an iconic guitarist in the rock scene, Steve Vai, who revealed that his ‘guilty pleasure’ artist is Harry Styles. The musician stated that he began listening to him after his wife played lots of his songs. Although Vai noted that his current favorite musician is Harry Styles, it seems Noel Gallagher thinks otherwise.

Oasis’ Noel Gallagher aimed at Harry Styles’ musicianship during an interview with Absolute Radio. He stated that he doesn’t believe Harry Styles gets an acoustic guitar and tries to write a song. He then said The X Factor is just a TV show, and anyone that has come from it has nothing to do with music.

Noel Gallagher told Absolute Radio the following about Harry Styles:

“You’re not telling me Harry Styles is currently in a room somewhere writing a song. With any joy, he’ll be surrounded by a lot of girls. I can assure you he’s not got an acoustic guitar out trying to write a middle eight for something.

He then continued:

“The X Factor is a TV show, it’s got nothing to do with music, it’s got nothing to do with music whatsoever, and anything that has come from that, that’s got nothing to do with music.”

So, Noel Gallagher thinks that artists that came from TV shows such as The X Factor are not capable of making real music. Moreover, Gallagher also implied that Harry Styles’ music material has nothing to do with music since he’s in the same category of people the Oasis icon condemned.
