Nikki Sixx Puts Himself On The Spot After The ‘Band Feud’ Question

Nikki Sixx recently took to his personal Facebook page to ask his fans a question about ‘band feuds.’ Considering the recent Mötley Crüe headlines with Mick Mars, the guitarist put himself on the spot. Sixx wrote:

“Ok, here’s a question. Why do bands fight with other bands?”

One fan responded and said:

“Why do they fight with their own band?”

When another fan asked what his perspective was, the guitarist said:

“I usually mostly respond to people dogging my band. It’s my family.”

L.A. Guns’ occasional guitarist Philip Lewis also shared his opinion on Sixx’s open-ended question. He wrote:

“That’s easy. Some bands go to the trouble of mastering their craft, while others mime to a background track. Bound to ruffle some feathers, eh.”

Lewis’s comment, especially the ‘others mime to a background track’ part, almost referenced Carmine Appice’s interview with Andrew Daly of Ultimate Guitar, where the drummer shared what Mars had told him about his departure from the band. He said:

“Well, I tell you what, I’ve been talking to Mick, and he told me, ‘When I was on the Stadium Tour, I was not happy.’ Basically, everything was on tape; it was all planned out and ultimately a lot of crap…Mick told me that people that came to see it could tell that it was all pre-recorded and that everything was on tape.”
