Nikki Sixx recently defended Vince Neil’s vocal abilities, addressing fan concerns about the Mötley Crüe frontman’s performance in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The comment came in response to a fan’s suggestion that Vince Neil should focus on improving his voice and physical condition before the band’s upcoming tour. The fan said in his message to Sixx, “Vince needs to get into shape and fix his voice first.”

Sixx dismissed these concerns with confidence in his bandmate’s current abilities. He said, “Did you hear him in Vegas? He sounded solid and bad ass.”

Sixx’s defense of Neil comes at a significant moment for the legendary rock band. Blabbermouth reported that the bassist’s comments reference Neil’s recent performances during Mötley Crüe’s 2025 Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, where the frontman demonstrated strong vocal performance and stage presence.

The timing of Sixx’s statement is particularly noteworthy given recent circumstances surrounding the band. Vince Neil suffered a stroke in late 2024, which raised significant fan speculation about his ability to perform at the level expected from the iconic frontman. Metal Wani noted that the band’s Las Vegas residency was originally scheduled for spring 2025. It was postponed until September 2025 to allow Neil adequate time to recover from his health setback.

Despite these initial concerns, Neil’s return to the stage has exceeded expectations. Ultimate Classic Rock confirmed that Neil’s voice was strong, clear, and consistent with his previous performances. His stage movement also showed marked improvement. The band described the residency as one of their tightest and most energetic in recent years, demonstrating that Neil’s recovery has been successful.

Sixx’s public endorsement reflects the band’s collective confidence moving forward. Live Nation’s event listings reveal that this positive reception from the Vegas residency has fueled excitement for Mötley Crüe’s upcoming 2026 tour. Sixx and the rest of the band are expressing confidence in Neil’s readiness to tour again. The bassist’s blunt response to fan critics underscores the band’s unified stance: Vince Neil is ready, and he’s performing at the level fans expect from a Mötley Crüe frontman.
