Buckcherry, the rock band fronted by Josh Todd, confirmed that their tour bus was involved in a fatal crash on I-26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The band shared the statement on Instagram. All members and touring crew are safe, the band reported. Authorities confirmed a fatality occurred in the collision that took place ahead of the bus.
The statement addressed the details of the incident, the safety of the band and crew, and the status of their upcoming show.
“At approximately 2am Friday morning, Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina,” the statement said. “We are extremely grateful to report that all members of Buckcherry and our touring crew are safe and unharmed.”
“Tragically, authorities have confirmed that the collision that occurred ahead of our bus resulted in a fatality,” the statement continued. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life.”
“Buckcherry’s scheduled performance tomorrow at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is expected to proceed as planned,” the statement added. “We sincerely appreciate everyone who has reached out with concern and support.”

The person killed had exited their vehicle following a crash and was struck by another car. Buckcherry is expected to continue their tour as scheduled following the incident.
The scale of the disruption caused by the crash paints a fuller picture of the chaotic scene the band’s bus rolled into that night.
The collision struck at mile marker 31 on I-26 East. By 7am, all eastbound lanes remained blocked as crews worked the scene. Traffic was rerouted for hours while South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers investigated the multi-vehicle wreck. This underscored how severe the incident was before Buckcherry’s bus arrived on the scene.
The identity of the person killed has not been released. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the victim or the vehicles involved beyond confirming that the fatality occurred in a separate collision ahead of the band’s bus.
Buckcherry is currently on the road as part of their Roar Like Thunder Tour. The tour has kept the band traveling through the southeastern United States in recent weeks. The overnight accident marks a harrowing moment in an otherwise ongoing run of tour dates.
Despite the frightening ordeal, the band’s decision to press forward with their Fort Lauderdale show signals their intent to keep the tour on track. Authorities continue investigating the fatal crash.
