Nikki Sixx recently responded to fan criticism about Mötley Crüe’s upcoming Las Vegas residency. He shared a photo of an acoustic guitar he plans to bring to the shows on Facebook.

The bassist’s post sparked concern among some fans. They worried about the possibility of acoustic versions of the band’s songs being performed during the residency.

“Looks who I’m bringing along with me for The Vegas Residency,” Sixx wrote in the caption of his post.

A fan expressed their displeasure in the comments. They stated their opposition to any acoustic elements in the show.

“Another reason not to go, Mötley isn’t supposed to be acoustic!” the fan commented. “It’s supposed to be down and dirty, loud and electric and raw!”

Sixx fired back with a sarcastic response defending the band’s creative choices.

“I am sorry we don’t fit in the little tiny box in your head,” he replied. “We will try to make everything we write and record be exactly the same for you.”

The exchange highlights the ongoing tension between artists’ creative evolution and fan expectations for their live performances.

This controversy comes as anticipation builds for the band’s highly anticipated return to Las Vegas. It marks another chapter in their storied career.

Park MGM reported that Mötley Crüe’s Las Vegas residency is scheduled to begin on September 12, 2025, at Dolby Live in Park MGM. The residency will run through October 3, with a total of 10 shows planned. The residency represents a significant milestone for the band. It offers fans an intimate venue experience compared to their traditional stadium tours.

The Vegas shows mark a continuation of the band’s reunion since 2022. This follows their highly publicized 2015 farewell tour. Business Insider noted that this comeback reflects that the band continues to evolve while honoring their legacy. It demonstrates their willingness to adapt their sound and presentation for different venues and audiences.

Despite some fan concerns about potential acoustic arrangements, demand for the residency remains exceptionally high. MGM Resorts confirmed that VIP experience packages for the residency have already sold out. These packages include premium seating, nightclub access, and meet-and-greet opportunities. This underscores the excitement surrounding the shows.

The sold-out VIP packages demonstrate that while some fans may have reservations about acoustic elements, the overall fanbase remains eager to see the legendary rock band perform in an exclusive Las Vegas setting. The residency format allows for more experimental approaches to their classic catalog. This potentially includes both electric and acoustic arrangements.
