Nikki Sixx shared a rare update on Mötley Crüe’s current dynamic, revealing that the bandmates rarely see each other outside of work.
The update came as the band prepares to head out on a new tour. Sixx noted that the physical distance between members has made casual time together nearly impossible.
“Back in California for band rehearsals,” Sixx said. “Tommy, Vince, and I all live in different states, so we really only get to see each other during rehearsals and on tour these days.”
Despite the limited time together off the road, Sixx expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming run of shows.
“As much as I’m going to miss spending the summer in Wyoming, I’m excited that Mötley Crüe has 33 shows lined up,” he continued. “There’s something special about playing outdoors on summer nights, and it’s always great to get out there and see our fans. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.”
The tour is titled “The Return of Carnival of Sins.” It carries significant weight in the band’s history and signals a deliberate nod to one of their most celebrated live eras. The rollout for the campaign began in May 2026, when the band officially teased the tour.
Drummer Tommy Lee has also been vocal about the upcoming run. He discussed it in a recent interview, reflecting on the band’s journey and what this particular tour means to him personally. His comments underscored the sense that the band is approaching this stretch of shows with renewed purpose.
The tour’s schedule is already being made public, with confirmed dates stretching into the summer. A stop at Truliant Amphitheater in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 17, 2026, is among the shows already listed. The outdoor amphitheater-heavy run aligns with Sixx’s remarks about the appeal of summer nights on stage.
For a band whose members are now spread across different states, the tour effectively serves as the primary setting where Mötley Crüe exists as a unit. The road now functions less as a break from everyday life and more as the main event where the group reconnects.
With 33 shows on the calendar and tickets already moving, the band appears fully committed to making “The Return of Carnival of Sins” a landmark moment in their ongoing live legacy.
