Journey’s Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain have issued public apologies to fans after the band’s Stagecoach Festival performance was canceled last minute due to an emergency evacuation. This was reported on Schon’s Facebook page.

The statements addressed the disappointment of fans who attended the festival expecting to see Journey perform. Both band members emphasized that the cancellation decision was not made by the band.

“Dear Fans, we want to sincerely apologize to everyone at Stagecoach Festival last night,” Neal Schon said. “We were truly looking forward to performing for you. The decision to evacuate and cancel the show was not made by us. It was issued and communicated to our team during the emergency situation.”

Schon continued to express the band’s regret while highlighting safety concerns.

“The safety of our fans, crew, and everyone on site had to come first,” he said. “We’re deeply sorry we couldn’t take the stage and share that moment with you. We appreciate your support, patience, and the incredible energy you bring every night.”

Jonathan Cain also addressed the situation, specifically mentioning the dangerous weather conditions that led to the evacuation.

“We apologize to our fans who showed up at Stagecoach last night for the Journey show,” Cain said. “The high winds were extremely dangerous for all and evacuation was the call. All our fans should know we were waiting and were ready to play.”

The cancellation occurred due to high winds that created dangerous conditions at the festival venue. This prompted organizers to evacuate the area for safety reasons.

The dangerous wind conditions at Stagecoach Festival reflected a broader pattern of severe weather affecting multiple regions across the United States during the same period.

ABC News reports revealed that crews in Florida and Georgia were simultaneously battling multiple fast-moving wildfires. These fires were stoked by dry and windy conditions similar to those that forced the festival evacuation. The widespread nature of these weather-related emergencies highlighted the serious safety concerns that prompted festival organizers to take immediate action.

Local officials in Georgia had ordered mandatory evacuations amid fast-moving blazes burning over 3,000 acres. This demonstrated the type of swift emergency response that festival organizers mirrored when faced with dangerous wind conditions. The parallel situations across different states underscored the severity of the weather system affecting the region.

Weather officials warned residents in affected areas to be prepared for more fires. The combination of dry conditions and high winds created an ongoing threat. This broader context helps explain why festival organizers acted decisively to prioritize safety over entertainment, even at the cost of disappointing thousands of Journey fans.

The incident serves as a reminder of how quickly weather conditions can change outdoor event plans. Safety protocols take precedence over scheduled performances when dangerous conditions arise.
