Metallica’s James Hetfield Says He’s A Big Fan Of ‘Stranger Things’


Metallica icon James Hetfield recently spoke to ‘Stranger Things’ star Joseph Quinn and revealed that he had been an avid fan of the series since the release of the first season.

Created by the Duffer Brothers, ‘Stranger Things’ is a successful sci-fi horror drama series focusing on mysterious and supernatural incidents around the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. It reflects these events’ impact on several child and adult characters, portraying them with horror and science fiction.

The first season of ‘Stranger Things’ debuted on Netflix on July 15, 2016. The series’ second, third, and fourth seasons followed in October 2017, July 2019, and May and July 2022. In the fourth season’s finale, Eddie Munson, the character portrayed by Joseph Quinn, played Metallica’s ‘Master Of Puppets,’ making the hit quite popular again.

Along with Joseph Quinn, Rob Trujillo’s son Tye Trujillo played the guitar tracks of ‘Master Of Puppets.’ With this performance, Tye received his father’s and Kirk Hammett’s praises, and many Metallica fans appreciated his guitar talent. Ultimately, this scene was a win-win situation for both ‘Stranger Things’ and Metallica.

Recently, Joseph Quinn had a chance to meet the metal legends backstage at Lollapalooza. Before jamming together, he and Metallica had a quick interview, and Quinn asked James Hetfield whether he was a fan of the series. Hetfield then stated he and his kids had been big fans since the release of season one, and it’s a bonding experience for the Hetfield family.

During the conversation, Joseph Quinn asked James Hetfield the following:

“Are you a fan of the show?”

Hetfield responded:

I’m a big fan of it. I have been since season one. My kids and I, it’s been a bonding experience for us.”
