Ahead of Maroon 5’s newly announced tour dates for late 2023 and early 2024, Adam Levine made a guest appearance on a recent episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’ Host Jimmy Kimmel played a video from one of the band’s 1995 concerts during the show.
As they watched the video, Levine recalled his experience with stage diving:
“This was me attempting a stage dive and failing. When you show that, I feel how much it hurt ’cause they threw me back against the backstage wall, and it just was so brutal.”
Confirming that it was the first time he tried the move, the singer revealed:
“And my last. I thought I was gonna be completely incapable of walking for the rest of my life, but it was so much adrenaline I just popped back up.”
Maroon 5’s First Big Tour

Maroon 5, as we know them today, actually debuted in the music industry eight years after this 1995 show. To promote their ‘Songs About Jane’ album, the band embarked on their first major tour in 2002, as Levine shared with Kimmel.
Asked whether he remembered the tour, the vocalist said:
“Oh my gosh! Our first tour… Well, our first big kind of tour that we got was with – To say it was with Sheryl Crow is a stretch, and I still talk to her about this to this day because it’s so funny. We played the parking lot.”
He described the experience as follows:
“So, we didn’t even – It was so sad. There was like a parking lot stage, where bands would go like 3 or 4 o’clock when it was like blisteringly hot outside over the summer, and then the bands would go, and then she would play on the actual stage in the arena at like 9 o’clock. That was our first big tour.”
The Vocalist’s Upcoming Shows With The Band

Now, decades later, Maroon 5 is gearing up for another series of performances, with tour stops in various countries, including Vietnam, the US, and Bahrain. Following their successful Las Vegas residency last summer, they are set to return to Park MGM with 16 additional shows in May 2024.
Discussing the upcoming residency, Levine recently told People:
“I’m really look forward to doing it again, and honestly could never have told you that before we started. I had no idea what to expect. Obviously, I went into it with an open mind and a good attitude, but I was actually shocked at how much I enjoyed it.”
