Marilyn Manson recently made rare comments about his past relationship with Evan Rachel Wood during an interview. He shared memories from the Chateau Marmont hotel as reported by Golden Star Radio.

The musician discussed his experiences at the famous Hollywood hotel, including his encounter with Wood, amid ongoing legal proceedings between them. Manson admitted that he was not happy about having a relationship with Wood.

“Over here is where I met a girl that has three names, like Lee Harvey Oswald, Evan Rachel Wood, which I’m not happy about that part,” Manson said. “And then, normally I’ve never been to this castle part, but Chateau Marmont is very close to my house. And I love Chateau Marmont.”

The artist continued sharing anecdotes from the hotel, mentioning various celebrities he encountered there.

“At the top right here is where Hunter S. Thompson, Benicio Del Toro, Nick Nolte, I’m gonna keep name-dropping, Johnny Depp, Harry Dean Stanton, Sean Penn, and myself, all hang out together,” he continued. “Harry Dean Stanton hit my ex-wife Tita Von Tesse in the face with a dinner roll. And Hunter S. Thompson had a bandage on his hand, and there was a hole in the window.”

This statement represents one of Manson’s few public comments about Wood since their legal disputes began.

Manson’s reference to meeting Wood at the Chateau Marmont connects to a significant chapter in both their lives that would later become the center of serious legal allegations.

Women’s Health reported that Wood first met Manson at the Chateau Marmont in 2005 when she was 18 years old. She was attending a party that neither wanted to be at. Their relationship officially began in 2007 and lasted until 2010. They were engaged for a time before breaking up.

The relationship took a dramatic turn in 2021 when Wood publicly accused Manson of grooming and abuse. Business Insider noted that these allegations led to significant consequences for Manson’s career. His record label and talent agency dropped him and he was removed from upcoming projects.

Following Wood’s initial accusations, The Independent documented that over a dozen other women came forward with similar claims against Manson. The musician has consistently maintained that all his relationships were consensual and has denied the allegations.

Wood has since transformed her experience into advocacy work, becoming a prominent voice for victims of domestic violence. She played a key role in passing the Phoenix Act in California, which extended the statute of limitations for domestic felonies. This provides more time for survivors to seek justice.
