Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland recently opened up about the band’s future music plans and their surprising rise in popularity.
Borland discussed the band’s upcoming writing sessions and reflected on previously recorded material that could find its way into new songs.
“Absolutely. We’re planning on going in… I think we have some time in August that we’re planning on going in and writing. We’ve had writing sessions, and there are parts [that we may end up using in some of the new songs],” Borland said.
He also revealed that he and frontman Fred Durst have been revisiting older recordings with renewed enthusiasm.
“Fred [Durst, Limp Bizkit frontman] and I were just listening to some riffs and some other sessions that we had from a writing session last year, and we were, like, ‘Oh, I forgot about that. I forgot about that,'” he continued. “And so we’ve got some ammo to go in.”
Beyond the new music, Borland also addressed the band’s current standing with their fanbase, expressing genuine surprise at their level of success.
“We’re the biggest we’ve ever been right now [as well]. It’s crazy. And I’m not saying that in a cocky way. I’m saying that, like, we can’t believe it. It’s just been — we’re so lucky,” he said. “I don’t know exactly how it happened, but I think people… We just get along so well now, and everybody, we’re adults, and we’re still having fun doing it, and I think that translates to the audience.”
The numbers and the bookings back up what Borland is saying. The band’s 2026 activity paints a clear picture of a group operating at a level that rivals their late-1990s commercial peak.
Limp Bizkit launched their 2026 touring cycle at the Impact Festival in Kraków, Poland. The performance drew massive crowds and generated fresh attention across the rock world.
The band is also set to co-headline the Summer of ’99 and Beyond Festival in July 2026 alongside Creed. The pairing of two nu-metal era giants at a single event reflects the strong appetite for that generation of rock music right now.
The band also announced their first-ever South Africa tour date, with a show scheduled at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on December 13, 2026. The milestone signals that the band is tapping into markets they have never reached before.
Limp Bizkit have sold over thirty million records worldwide, cementing their place as one of the most commercially successful American rock bands of their era. What makes their current moment remarkable is that the momentum is building again — and with new music on the horizon, the band shows no signs of slowing down.
