The Story Behind MGK’s New Tattoo

The artist recently unveiled a massive new tattoo covering his upper chest and arms, shown in a photo on Instagram that quickly captivated his audience. Despite the backlash from some fans and contentious comments, the tattoo, according to MGK, is for ‘spiritual purposes only.’ Tattoo artist Roxx also praised MGK’s resilience during the process, writing:

“Made some art with Machine Gun Kelly. Never met a tougher one.”

Controversy Surrounds MGK’s Custom Guitar

January saw Kelly facing criticism for his custom guitar, ‘The Razor,’ developed in collaboration with Schecter. Its unique shape sparked debate among fans and fellow artists alike, with criticisms ranging from glorifying self-harm to its unconventional appearance. Ronnie Radke of Falling In Reverse and others defended MGK, questioning the inconsistency in public sensitivity towards artistic expression.

MGK’s response to the backlash reaffirmed his belief in art’s subjective nature and lamented the public’s misinterpretation of his intentions. Amidst the controversies, the rocker has remained outspoken against detractors. His sharp exchange with Static Dress singer Olli Appleyard underscored his frustration with the narrow interpretation of his art. Kelly emphasized the role of an artist in sparking conversations and criticized Appleyard’s lack of understanding.
