MGK has a new custom guitar, but most people are not happy with how it looks.

The rapper collaborated with Schecter to release a custom guitar to be added to their MGK Signature collection. Due to its razor shape, it got a great amount of hate comments and criticism, but Falling In Reverse singer Ronnie Radke was on the supporting side of it. Referring to some of the comments that claimed it was glorifying self-harm, Radke commented:

“My guy I’m not jumping on any sides here but come on, have we gotten so lost we are now complaining about a razor blade guitar cuz it might trigger people to self harm? But you turn around and give my video of me murdering people with guns a thumbs up? I like you bro, Let the man live.”

‘True Art Is Controversial’

The custom-made guitar is named ‘The Razor,’ and it is shaped like, as you can tell from the name, a razor. To some, it is not shaped appropriately for his minor fans, and for some, it glorifies self-harm.

A few even complained about just the shape of it, one being Corey Taylor’s wife Alicia Taylor:

“Why does it look like a banjo tho.”

As a response to all of the comments, MGK stated that it was his way of conveying his thoughts in a form of art and shared his thoughts on the comments:

“I’ll never explain my art because true art is conversational and always up for interpretation, but I will say most of you constantly interpret it wrong. And then blame me for your version of what you think my art is. Ultimately I’m sad at how people perceive me in general. Peace.”

The Guitar Caused A Heated Argument

While the guitar received a great amount of hate and criticism, the Static Dress singer Olli Appleyard was one of the musicians to comment on it as well, and apparently, MGK was not happy with his comments.

Appleyard wrote about the guitar:

“I f*cking hate living on this planet.”

MGK replied:

“Words from a musician who never made it.”

Appleyard claimed how the guitar pushed horrific themes to his fanbase:

“Don’t worry bro just continue to push horrific themes to literal children.”

Claiming that Appleyard does not understand his message with art, the rapper replied:

“And you can continue to show them how to be shallow minded and not look at art with any depth. I’ve done my job as an artist by creating a conversation, you’ve done yours as an idiot by not having the capacity to understand my message.”

Some users were not happy with the fact that MGK called Appleyard ‘a musician who never made it,’ while mentioning Static Dress was going on tour with Bring Me The Horizon, whom MGK collaborated with. Additionally, some criticized MGK, highlighting the success of sold-out Static Dress shows.

Now, the comment section is divided in half. You can see the posts below.
