Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale shared insights about her involvement in Black Sabbath’s final show in an interview with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM.

The singer detailed the invitation process and complex organization behind the upcoming tribute performance.

“We got the email from Sharon Osbourne. And I didn’t answer for like a day. ‘Cuz I’m like, ‘Oh my God, is this real?’ And then Tom Morello called me,” Hale said. “So as of right now, we know what we’re doing. Some originals and also we are doing covers of Black Sabbath. And I’ve been asked to be included in the supergroup with everybody.”

Hale provided insight into the behind-the-scenes complexity of the event.

“But I understand like just from Tom Morello’s voice and everything, it’s really hard man. I don’t know why he took on the job. Because it must be terrible trying to organize everybody just to get all these together,” she continued. “We all have been in festivals. This is basically the ultimate festival in honor of Black Sabbath. But there’s all these casts, everybody wants a piece. There are like 30 guitar players who all want a solo.”

Hale maintained an optimistic outlook about the event despite the potential challenges.

“I don’t care whether it’s a mess or not. I’m just happy to be there. … It’s going to be a great time. The audience will be amazing.”

The upcoming event represents a historic moment in heavy metal history. It has generated significant buzz in the music industry.

According to Metallica’s official website, the final performance will take place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. The show, titled “Back to the Beginning,” will mark the original Black Sabbath lineup’s first performance together in 20 years.

WMMR reports that Tom Morello will serve as the musical director. He aims to create what he calls “the greatest day in the history of heavy metal.” The lineup features legendary acts including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Tool.

Ozzy Osbourne’s official website confirms the event will celebrate Black Sabbath’s legacy. The profits will support charitable causes, including Cure Parkinson’s and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Lzzy Hale joins a diverse lineup of artists paying tribute to Black Sabbath’s enduring influence on heavy metal. Several surprise performances remain to be announced.

The final Black Sabbath show lineup and schedule details will be announced in the coming weeks.
