Blabbermouth revealed that Foreigner’s current vocalist Kelly Hansen has announced temporary replacements for the band’s upcoming South American tour dates.

“Some issues have forced me to limit appearances outside of the USA this year, and this means, unfortunately, I will miss Foreigner’s South American run,” Hansen explained. “However, our incredible bandmate Luis Maldonado has been recording some of our hits in Spanish and he will be handling most of the vocals along with Lou Gramm who will be guesting with FOREIGNER for those shows.”

“I know they will smash it!” Hansen added confidently.

Foreigner recently announced Hansen’s inability to continue with certain tour dates. The band confirmed that original Foreigner singer Lou Gramm and Luis Maldonado will handle vocal duties for the upcoming shows.

The temporary lineup change represents a significant moment in Foreigner’s evolving history. This change brings together both past and present elements of the band.

iHeart highlighted Gramm’s significant role in the band’s history. He founded Foreigner in 1976 and became the voice behind iconic hits like ‘Feels Like The First Time’ and ‘I Want to Know What Love Is.’

AXS TV noted that this collaboration didn’t come as a surprise. Gramm recently performed with the band during a special event in Florida. The performance demonstrated the enduring chemistry between the classic and current members.

Luis Maldonado has prepared Spanish versions of Foreigner’s classic hits. These new versions will offer South American fans a fresh perspective on the band’s legendary catalog.

The vocal arrangements extend beyond the South American dates. Geordie Brown will step in as a guest vocalist for the Canadian leg of the tour. This arrangement shows the band’s commitment to maintaining their touring schedule while accommodating Hansen’s limited international availability.
