The band detailed Finch’s current medical situation and called on fans and supporters to contribute to a GoFundMe campaign set up to help cover her care expenses.

“Our beloved bandmate, sister, and friend Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer,” the band said. “Following multiple surgeries and serious complications, Jennifer now requires extensive medical care, rehabilitation and professional in-home support. Friends, family, and L7 have launched a GoFundMe to help cover these urgent expenses and allow her to remain safely at home with the care, dignity and support she needs.”

The band also addressed the status of their upcoming tour, explaining that Finch herself had asked them to proceed as planned.

“The Last Hurrah Tour was planned along with Jennifer when all four of us were in good health and spirits,” they continued. “Although she will not be able to join us for the upcoming U.S. dates, Jennifer has asked us to continue with the tour as planned. We will honor her request while making her care and well-being our immediate priority.”

L7 closed their statement with a direct appeal to fans, emphasizing the importance of both financial contributions and spreading awareness.

“Please donate if you are able — and, just as importantly, please share the campaign as widely as possible. Every contribution, share and message of support matters,” they said. “Jennifer is part of our family. We love her, and we want her to feel the full strength of the community that has loved and supported her for so many years.”

The GoFundMe campaign is currently live, with the band urging supporters to share it as widely as possible.

The diagnosis has since been identified as glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat forms of brain cancer. The condition came to light following an emergency hospital visit earlier this year. Finch had recently completed a rigorous course of radiation before the disease progressed further.

The GoFundMe campaign has drawn support from across the music world. Courtney Love is among those coordinating efforts alongside the L7 team to raise funds for Finch and her partner to cover mounting medical expenses.

For the upcoming U.S. tour dates, Finch will be temporarily replaced by bassist Tsuzumi Okai, who previously served as a touring bassist for Limp Bizkit in 2018. The band made clear that the decision to continue touring was made at Finch’s own request, and that her care remains their top priority throughout.

Finch is a founding member of L7, the Los Angeles-based rock band that rose to prominence in the early 1990s as part of the grunge and punk scenes. Beyond her role as a musician, she has built a reputation as a visual artist and photographer, making her a multidisciplinary figure within the alternative music community.

The outpouring of support from fans and fellow artists reflects the deep impact Finch has had on rock music over the course of her career. The band has urged supporters not only to donate but to share the campaign as widely as possible, stressing that visibility is just as critical as financial contributions in helping Finch access the care she needs.
