Knocked Loose recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week to perform their recent hit song, ‘Suffocate,’ featuring Poppy. While the performance went well for both the band and their fans, they also faced backlash from the fans of Jimmy Kimmel for being ‘too scary’ — and now they want a formal apology.
Some viewers took to Facebook to suggest that Knocked Loose perform earlier than planned. Their concern seemed to come from the combination of screaming and moshing. “I was trying to enjoy the program. I was sitting on the couch with my son who is an ADOLESCENT waiting to see the musical guest because we like the nice music the show usually books,” one viewer wrote on Facebook. “By the third or fourth ‘JUNT’ my son was in tears. He doesn’t like scary things and quite frankly I think the Kimmel show and its staff should make a formal apology.”
The situation escalated to the point where Knocked Loose fans turned to social media to respond to the backlash. They stated that people complaining were simply being sensitive and pointed out that metal was becoming mainstream, just like it once was.
The frontman Bryan Garris also made a statement to address the situation on social media. He celebrated the moment and thanked everyone who watched the show and helped make it happen. The singer ended his statement with a note. “PS if it scared you, good.”
It’s been only five days since the performance took place and it already has over a million views on Jimmy Kimmel’s YouTube page.
The band will continue their live shows on March 17, starting in London, UK.
