Iggy Pop Collaborates With Måneskin To Release A Remake Of ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’
Måneskin recently shared a post on its official Twitter page announcing a brand new collaboration with Iggy Pop for their hit single, ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave.’ The band previously hinted at a possible collaboration with the ‘Godfather of Punk’ and now fans have to wait until 6 August to get their hands on the new release.
As some of you might know, Måneskin is an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016 with a line-up consists of vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria de Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio. The young band initially started making music on the streets and later gained recognition following their success in the eleventh season of the Italian talent show X Factor in 2017 when they were ranked second.
However, the band received the world’s attention when they won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song, ‘Zitti e Buoni,’ on top of their win at the Sanremo Music Festival 2021. Måneskin’s success got only bigger as the band released its second studio album, ‘Teatro d’ira: Vol. I’ on March 19, 2021, with whom they also released their biggest song, ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave.’ The track managed to reach top-ten positions on charts across Europe as well as being viral on the Spotify charts.
Måneskin is now considered to be one of the bands that is representing the new generation of rock music and they have been praised by many rock icons including the Godfather of Punk himself, Iggy Pop. A few days ago, there was a video shared on the official Twitter page of Måneskin, revealing the video chat between the band members and Iggy Pop as the band advice its fans to keep their eyes open for a new announcement.
The statement by the band follows:
“Keep an eye on this. Soon Iggy Pop.”
While fans have plenty of ideas about the video, they all thought of seeing a brand new collaboration coming from the young generation and old generation of rock which sounds nothing but thrilling. Fortunately for those fans, Måneskin recently shared a post on its official Twitter page announcing that they will be working with Iggy Pop.
In addition to sharing an artwork that includes all members of the band and Iggy Pop in front, Måneskin also revealed every detail about the unexpected yet exciting collaboration. Apparently, the band was joined by the Godfather of Punk to release a brand new version of their track, ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave.‘ Luckily, fans don’t have to wait for a long time as the remaking of the track will be released on August 6.
