Kid Rock has made a triumphant announcement on X (formerly Twitter) about his Detroit restaurant.

“A small group of very bad people thought they cancelled me and my restaurant in Detroit in 2020,” Kid Rock said. “All you dumbasses did was hurt the city I LOVE.”

Kid Rock announces the reopening of his restaurant in a different city.

ABC7 reported that Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit closed its doors in 2020 after he chose not to renew his licensing agreement with Little Caesars Arena.

The closure emerged from a series of controversial events. Windsor Star noted that arena operator Ilitch Holdings emphasized their commitment to ‘inclusive, respectful’ venues. Kid Rock responded by stating he would ‘go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated.’

Fox News revealed that the establishment faced additional challenges. The restaurant settled a racial discrimination lawsuit in December 2019 involving a fired bartender.

The Spokesman-Review confirmed Kid Rock’s launch of a new venture called the Detroit Cowboy in Nashville, Tennessee. The new establishment will span 12,000 square feet in the former Joe Muer Seafood location. This move marks a fresh start for the musician’s restaurant business.
