LA Guns’ Tracii Guns Slams Rock Bands Faking Their Live Performances

LA Guns’ Tracii Guns recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts about rock bands faking their live performances. Guns’ shared his views on the matter and why he prefers authentic garage bands and smaller venues to big shows.

Tracii is no stranger to the live music scene, having performed in various bands for decades. To him, music and live performances should come from a place of human passion, which he feels is often lacking in bands that fake their live shows.

On the other hand, garage bands and early punk rock bands focus on playing their instruments together and making a statement through their performances. Guns would much rather enjoy a smaller show with real-life music than go to a bigger one that uses pre-recorded tracks to achieve a perfect show for their fans.

Tracii Guns’ words about rock bands faking their shows read:

“Any kind of art, including music and performing live, should come from a place of human passion. One of the reasons I love Garage Bands and early punk rock bands is because they don’t really care about anything other than playing their instruments together and making a statement through those performances.

I’ll never understand what could possibly be self-fulling as an artist by faking anything in performance. One could argue it’s for the entertainment value of perfection for the audience. I don’t really go to big shows, but if I did and the artist wasn’t being true to themselves, I would not be happy. That’s just me, though.”

Guns’ insight on rock bands faking their live performances brought out the musician’s dedication to the authenticity and passion that should be the main goal of any artistic endeavor. For him, genuine performances hold much more value than pursuing perfection at the cost of an artist’s integrity and he tries to incorporate that into his live performances.
