Kerry King discussed Slayer’s upcoming performance at Ozzy Osbourne’s final show in an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil.

“I drug my feet and picked our song really late, when there weren’t as many obvious choices,” King admitted. “But the one I picked is gonna work out really cool.”

“I worked it out with my [solo] band, so me and Paul [Bostaph, Slayer and Kerry King drummer] could rehearse it,” he explained. “We’ve already got it. We just need to get Tom [Araya] and Gary [Holt] on board whenever – probably in June we will rehearse for that. It’s gonna be killer. What we’re doing is cool.”

The delayed song selection has left Slayer with one of the less prominent Black Sabbath tracks for the farewell concert. The band plans to begin rehearsals with all members in June.

This performance marks a historic moment in metal music history as Ozzy Osbourne prepares for his final stage appearance.

96K Rock revealed that Osbourne will perform his farewell show from a specially designed throne. The throne may even take flight during the performance, adding spectacular visual elements to the occasion.

The historic event will take place on July 5 in Birmingham, England. Loudwire reported that the show’s lineup includes metal legends Metallica, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, and Alice in Chains alongside Slayer.

Blabbermouth highlighted how this gathering of metal titans demonstrates Black Sabbath’s profound influence on the genre. Each band will pay tribute through their performances.

The concert will serve as a fitting finale for the Prince of Darkness. It unites multiple generations of metal artists whose careers have been shaped by his legendary influence.
