Ozzy Osbourne had previously voiced his concerns about performing live again, and according to his recently announced retirement from touring, it seems like Ozzy was right to be concerned. After the sad news, fans turned their eyes to Judas Priest as they were preparing to tour with the singer. Recently, Priest issued a statement about Ozzy’s retirement and shared their thoughts.
Although he was dealing with the long-lasting effects of a challenging surgery, the Prince Of Darkness was still passionate about taking the stage and playing for his fans. Ozzy had struggled with health issues for a long time — he broke his collar bone, eight ribs, and a neck vertebra after falling from his quad bike. Little did he know that this accident would change everything.
Following the unfortunate accident, Ozzy underwent serious surgeries and took his time to recover. Although he appeared on stage with Tony Iommi at the final performance of the 2022 Commonwealth Games and gave fans hope that he was recovering, things went downhill for the singer. Sadly, Ozzy recently announced his retirement from touring due to health concerns.
Judas Priest would perform the European Leg of their 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour with Ozzy Osbourne. Following the news of Ozzy’s retirement, fans began waiting to see Priest’s reaction. Recently, the band took to Twitter to express their sadness to see the Prince Of Darkness bidding farewell to the stage.
Judas Priest wrote the following:
“We send all our love and support for Ozzy and thank our fans in the UK and Ireland especially for your loyalty by standing with us. Right now, we’re looking at feasible opportunities to see each other again soon and will post updates accordingly.”
So, Judas Priest sent their love and support to Ozzy Osbourne. In November 2022, Ozzy had stated that he wanted to carry on because he didn’t want to miss his fans. Implying he had no plans of retiring, he had also said that he hadn’t made his best album yet. There is no doubt that fans will also miss seeing Ozzy’s breathtaking shows a lot.
