Former Mötley Crüe and the Dead Daisies singer John Corabi has shared a new statement addressing his future plans following his departure from the Dead Daisies. The band announced his exit in a way that suggested a mutual decision — a characterization Corabi has firmly pushed back against.
In the statement, Corabi took a moment to thank his supporters and hint at what lies ahead.
“Hey kids. Just wanted to stop and say ‘THANK YOU’ to all of my ‘friends’ that are/have been supporting yours truly,” Corabi said.
The singer went on to express enthusiasm about his next chapter, pointing to new projects already in motion.
“It’s an exciting time for all of us in the John Corabi & Friends band, and we can’t wait to see you on the road and share a few laughs, songs, and maybe a cocktail together!!!!” he continued. “When one door closes, another door opens…”
The statement comes shortly after the Dead Daisies publicly announced Corabi’s departure on July 14, 2026. The band’s statement read: “It has come to our attention that John Corabi has decided to leave the Dead Daisies.” They thanked him for his contributions and wished him success in his solo career. No replacement vocalist has been announced as of this writing.
Corabi wasted no time setting the record straight. In a separate social media post, he addressed swirling rumors and clarified his position directly: “Also, to set the record straight… I’m not joining Quiet Riot. I’m not returning to the Crüe. And it was not a mutual decision to leave the band The Dead Daisies I was recently in. But I can also state that it’s a new opportunity, a new chapter, and excuse the pun, it’s a new day.”
This marks Corabi’s second departure from the Dead Daisies. He had rejoined the band in May 2023 for a three-year run. His exit came shortly after the band reunited with former member Glenn Hughes for a May 30, 2026 show under the name the Purple Daisies — a development that appeared to signal a shift in the group’s direction. Prior to the official announcement, Corabi had openly expressed uncertainty about his standing in the band. He told interviewers that he didn’t know “what’s going on with this band” and was “waiting for the phone to ring” regarding touring schedules.
Corabi’s history with the Dead Daisies is only one chapter in a long and storied rock career. He is perhaps best known for serving as the frontman of Mötley Crüe from 1992 to 1994. During that tenure, he stepped in as lead vocalist and recorded the band’s self-titled 1994 album before Vince Neil returned to the fold. That period, while brief, cemented his reputation as one of hard rock’s most respected voices.
In April 2026, just months before the split became public, Corabi released his solo album “New Day” via Frontiers Music Srl. The timing now feels particularly fitting, as the record’s title mirrors the language he used in his own statement about moving forward. With the John Corabi & Friends project already taking shape and road plans on the horizon, Corabi appears fully focused on his own musical path rather than dwelling on the circumstances of his exit.
