John 5 recently shared his thoughts on Mötley Crüe’s recent Las Vegas residency and hinted at uncertainty regarding the band’s future plans. This information comes from an interview featured on Loudwire.

When discussing the residency, John 5 expressed his admiration for the experience. He praised vocalist Vince Neil’s performance despite his recent health challenges.

“It was magical, I’ll never forget it for the rest of my life. I really won’t. I’ll never forget it. Vince had his strokes and I’m telling you, it was magical to see this guy and hear this guy and hear how well he sang. I was just so proud of him. It was an incredible moment for me and an even more incredible moment for Vince,” John 5 said.

However, when asked about what lies ahead for Mötley Crüe, the guitarist remained uncertain about the band’s next steps.

“I don’t know. I’m waiting to hear. I’m really, really excited, so if you hear, let me know,” he explained.

No concrete plans have been announced for the band’s future activities at this time. Yet the successful completion of the 2025 Las Vegas residency marks a significant milestone for the legendary rock band and its newest member.

Metal Injection reported that Mötley Crüe’s 2025 Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM ran in two series spanning March through April and September through October. Each run featured 11 exclusive shows. This residency represented the band’s first extended Vegas run in over a decade, emphasizing the city as integral to their legacy of “extravagance and decadence.”

John 5 officially joined Mötley Crüe as lead guitarist in late 2022 and played a central role throughout the residency. Ultimate Classic Rock noted that John 5 brought new energy and technical prowess to the band’s live set rather than merely filling legendary guitarist Mick Mars’ shoes. He extended solos and added personal flourishes while remaining faithful to the classic Crüe sound. His integration was well-received, and he quickly became a key element of the group’s renewed onstage chemistry, both musically and in terms of showmanship.

The band has not yet announced future touring plans or additional Las Vegas shows beyond 2025. However, Live for Live Music reported that Mötley Crüe’s history suggests Las Vegas remains a recurring feature in their touring cycles. This is especially true as they continue to celebrate their enduring catalog with well-produced, high-energy performances. The band has shown no sign of slowing down creatively, having released Cancelled, their first EP in 30 years, just prior to the residency.

John 5 continues to maintain his own musical identity alongside his role in Mötley Crüe. He released a new solo album titled Ghost and is planning a major 50-state U.S. solo tour in 2026. This indicates that he intends to keep balancing Crüe obligations with his own creative output. There is no public indication of tensions or conflicts with the band regarding these solo endeavors, suggesting a healthy balance between his commitments to both projects.
