In a new video message, Bruce Dickinson revealed changes for Iron Maiden’s tour after Nicko McBrain stepped down.
“Hello folks. This is my tour pass for 2024,” the singer said. “That’ll get me anywhere in 2024, but I don’t need that anymore now because 2025 is gonna be something special.”
He went on to explain, “Not just because of the tour pass. Honestly, we are pushing the boat out with the tour. Not that I need to tell anybody, ’cause basically the tour is sold out already.”
“So for those of you who have bought tickets, which is like all of you, it’s gonna be really, really cool. I’m really looking forward to it. We’re gonna be doing stuff we’ve never, ever done before, and it’ll be a setlist for the ages,” the rocker shared.
Dickinson concluded his message, “So, I’ll see you there. And it’s not gonna stop in 2025. It’s gonna roll into 2026 ’cause there’s parts of the world that we need to get to that we can’t get to in 2025. So there you go.”
McBrain played his last show with the band in São Paulo, Brazil, earlier this month. The musician announced his retirement on December 7 through Iron Maiden’s website and social media. He confirmed that the concert in São Paulo would be his final performance with the band.
He said in a statement, “After much consideration, it is with both sorrow and joy that I announce my decision to take a step back from the grind of the extensive touring lifestyle. I will, however, remain firmly part of the Iron Maiden family, working on a variety of projects my longtime managers, Rod Smallwood and Andy Taylor, have in mind for me. I’ll also be focusing on my personal ventures, including The British Drum Company, Nicko McBrain’s Drum One, and Rock-N-Roll Ribs.”
Simon Dawson will replace McBrain in the upcoming live shows. Iron Maiden’s ‘Run For Your Lives’ tour begins in May 2025 in Hungary and runs through July 2025 in Germany.
