They continued by announcing the details of the tribute:

“The Joey Jordison Charitable Fund proudly presents: VIMIC – A Night Honoring Joey Jordison and the Release of Open Your Omen.”

The statement also invited fans to join the event:

“Join us for a powerful evening in Los Angeles, reuniting VIMIC for a one-night-only celebration of Joey’s vision and music. This event will not only mark the long-awaited release of Open Your Omen but also serve as a tribute to the legacy of Joey Jordison.”

This tribute comes as fans continue to honor Jordison’s musical legacy beyond his time with Slipknot.

VIMIC was formed by Jordison after his departure from Slipknot in 2013. Wikipedia reported that the band utilized the blueprint of his previous project, Scar the Martyr, which he had worked on during his time away from Slipknot. The group features members Kalen Chase on vocals, Jed Simon on guitar, Kyle Konkiel on bass, and Matthew Tarach on keyboards.

Jordison’s departure from Slipknot was initially shrouded in controversy. Invisible Oranges documented how the drummer later revealed he had been struggling with transverse myelitis, a neurological condition that affected his ability to play drums. Despite these health challenges, Jordison remained determined to continue his musical career.

The drummer’s resilience in the face of adversity became a defining characteristic of his later years. Metal Injection noted that even after his health setbacks and professional difficulties, Jordison remained unstoppable in pursuing his artistic vision through VIMIC.

VIMIC’s “Open Your Omen” album represents one of Jordison’s final creative works before his death in July 2021. The successful Kickstarter campaign demonstrates the continued support from fans who want to see his musical legacy preserved and celebrated.

Slipknot’s absence from the tribute was noted in the announcement. Further details about the event are expected to follow.
