Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson recently addressed speculation about the band’s future, clarifying their touring plans in an interview with The Metal Voice.

Pilson’s comments came in response to questions about whether the band’s current tour would mark their final performances. His response highlighted the impact of new singer Luis Maldonado on the group’s direction.

When asked “Is this the end of the road for Foreigner? Is this the final finale with this tour?”, Pilson provided a definitive answer about the band’s future plans.

“No, because you know we have a new singer and Luis Maldonado,” Pilson said. “And his force of nature is incredible and wait till you hear him sing and perform. The guy is astonishing and he’s actually breathed a lot of new life into the band.”

The bassist emphasized how the new lineup has revitalized the group’s outlook and energy.

“So we have much more coming and no it’s not anywhere near the end of the road,” he continued. “We thought it was going to be at one point but not anymore. We’re we’re rocking.”

Pilson’s optimistic outlook comes as the band prepares for significant milestones ahead. Broadway World reported that Foreigner has unveiled an expansive 2026-2027 50th anniversary tour that kicks off February 25 in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

The current lineup features Maldonado, who replaced Kelly Hansen last year, alongside Pilson on bass, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, Bruce Watson on guitar, and other members. This new configuration has brought fresh energy to the legendary rock group as they approach their golden anniversary.

Adding to the excitement, Parade revealed that Foreigner is reuniting with founding singer Lou Gramm for select performances during their 50th anniversary celebration. The special appearances will include Florida dates in April featuring a ‘Foreigner 4 Deluxe’ presentation.

Pilson has expressed appreciation for Gramm’s involvement in the current tour. Blabbermouth noted that the bassist praised the original vocalist’s support for the band’s current direction.

“Lou Gramm has been so wonderful and supportive to this whole thing,” Pilson noted, highlighting the positive relationship between the band’s past and present members as they move forward with their ambitious touring plans.
