Paramore recently announced that they have canceled more shows due to Hayley Williams’ illness. Williams has been suffering from a lung infection for a few weeks and has been canceling shows since then. The canceled gigs followed each other, and the reason behind it was first thought to be due to food poisoning, which Williams later clarified wasn’t.
The latest statement was shared on Williams’ Instagram stories. The statement read:
“Hey everybody, we just got off stage in Seattle. After speaking with our team and my doc, I know that trying to finish this tour is now going to come at a detriment to my health. My lungs are just not healing quickly enough to keep up. It got a little scary tonight.
We will have the team to post an official statement as soon as possible but we are going to have to cancel the last two shows of the tour so I can get better, finally. I know some of you are camping in Portland already so I just wanted to get this out there. I’m so sorry for all the chaos this has caused some of you. I really tried to kick this sh*t. Love you all.”
Williams received backlash the last time the band had to postpone their show due to her lung infection. The lead singer shared that they would have to reschedule their upcoming shows, for which she got called weak and a ‘whiney hypocrite c*nt.’ She also got compared to Dave Grohl and the time he once broke his leg and returned to finish the set.
The next tour of the band is scheduled to start on October 6 in New York. See the dates and details here.
