Recent footage on YouTube captured fan reactions to Guns N’ Roses’ first performance with their new drummer Isaac Carpenter.
“I was there too. New drummer [Isaac Carpenter] was awesome!! Axl was better than before,” one concert attendee said. “Awesome new Drummer! Doing a lovely performance too!” another fan commented.
“That drummer is far better. A vast improvement he’s brought the tempo back down,” a third fan noted. “He has the laid back groove more akin to Steven Adler and though Axl’s vocals aren’t quite there, it’s a lot better than it has been.”
The performance signals a major lineup change for the legendary rock band with Carpenter handling the drumming duties.
Fan enthusiasm coincides with Carpenter’s debut during a pivotal moment in the band’s touring schedule.
Loudwire reported that Carpenter made his first appearance with Guns N’ Roses on May 1, 2025, in Inchon, Korea. This performance launched the band’s 2025 tour following Carpenter’s March 2025 introduction.
Ultimate Classic Rock revealed that the change followed Frank Ferrer’s departure. Ferrer had performed with the band for 19 years before his final show in November 2023.
Blabbermouth highlighted Carpenter’s extensive musical background. He demonstrated his early commitment to music by co-founding the band Loudermilk in 1995 during his high school years.
Loudwire detailed Carpenter’s previous connection to the band. He collaborated with GN’R bassist Duff McKagan in his project Loaded from 2009 to 2011. His experience also includes performances with Awolnation and Adam Lambert.
