An official statement finally came from the punk rock icon band Green Day on TikTok about recording a new album since their last one, ‘Father of All Motherf*ckers,’ released in 2020.
Green Day recently shared a video, and while appreciating their fans’ support, they slipped information about how they have been recording their next studio album. “What the f*ck, what a year,” the caption read. “Seeing you all at festivals, in between working, recording our record in London & LA, doing a ‘Hella Mega’ European tour playing the US East Coast, Chicago, Florida, San Francisco, shows in Brazil and Argentina.”
They highlighted how busy they have been this year by continuing, “Playing Singapore to Austin Texas to Los Angeles charity show with Billy Idol, Jon Fogerty, and the Who.” Their fans were thankful that the band finally announced their efforts to continue recording despite their incredibly busy schedule.
Green Day had teased their fans throughout the year but had never made an official announcement about their next album. On December 2021, the band posted a photo inside a studio from their account, and the fans assumed they must be recording something new.
A short while after the studio post, they proceeded to share a video this time. While there was no news from the band for months, they clarified the situation with their recent TikTok post and gave fans the news they wanted to hear.
