Gil Moore recently discussed the possibility of Triumph releasing new music. He addressed fan questions about future studio work in an interview with Rock Interview Series.

The drummer’s comments came in response to a fan’s question about whether the band would consider recording new material alongside their announced “Rock n’ Roll Machine Reloaded Tour.”

Moore acknowledged the possibility when asked about the band’s desire to create another studio record or new songs. He emphasized an open-minded approach.

“Well, like I almost, you know, I said no to the tour for so long and then finally said yes. So this is one I just sort of leaves the door open like these stepping stones that I mentioned to you previously,” Moore said. “I mean they weren’t planned as much as they kind of fell together just you know with serendipity or whatever happen stance. So I think the same thing about new music.”

Moore highlighted the band’s access to recording facilities. He expressed particular enthusiasm about the creative potential between his bandmates.

“I mean if we get out there on the road and all of a sudden someone has an idea for a song. I mean, you know, Metal Works has a huge recording studio complex here. We can record to our hearts delight if we if we want to do it,” he continued. “So, I think we just wait and see, you know, how it goes. But, you know, I’d like to hear Rick and Phil write together, you know, the two guitar like the two guitar thing is really I know I’m looking forward to it.”

“I know those guys are too. Because they have tremendous respect for each other’s guitar playing ability and yeah, I think that would be sort of an interesting combination you know in the kitchen with those two chefs and I would certainly want to be in there myself,” Moore added.

Moore’s comments about new music come as the band prepares for their most significant return to the stage in decades. This marks a historic moment for Canadian rock fans.

Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the Rock n’ Roll Machine Reloaded Tour marks Triumph’s 50th anniversary and launches April 22, 2026, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The tour includes dates running through June 6 in Boston. This represents the band’s first proper touring outing in over 30 years, since their last major tour in 1993.

The upcoming tour features an expanded lineup that combines the classic trio with additional musicians to enhance the live experience. Loudwire noted that the classic lineup of Moore, guitarist Rik Emmett, and bassist Mike Levine will be joined by guitarist Phil X (currently with Bon Jovi and a former Triumph member), bassist/vocalist Todd Kerns, and drummer/keyboardist Brent Fitz, both from Slash’s band. This forms what’s essentially a six-man power trio.

This expanded configuration addresses the practical challenges of recreating Triumph’s complex studio arrangements in a live setting. Ultimate Classic Rock explained that the additional musicians will help strengthen the live sound so the show hits the level fans expect every night. This allows the original members to focus on their core contributions while ensuring the band’s intricate harmonies and layered instrumentation translate effectively to the stage.

The tour announcement has generated significant excitement among fans who have waited decades for the Canadian rock legends to reunite. Moore’s openness to new material provides an additional source of anticipation for what could emerge from this historic collaboration.
