Louder Sound broke the news of a potential collaboration between Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham, revealed by Swedish songwriter and producer Carl Falk.

“Slightly unreal moment to sit with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood to play Lindsey the album we have been working on,” Falk shared on social media. “And to see his genuine happiness for Mick to finally do his own album and offering to play guitar and to sing on it.”

“Can’t wait to finish this one,” he added about the project.

The unexpected collaboration indicates a potential improvement in the relationship between the former bandmates. This development follows years of complicated dynamics within Fleetwood Mac.

Buckingham’s departure from Fleetwood Mac occurred in 2018. Ultimate Classic Rock documented Mick Fleetwood’s expressed interest in creating music with Buckingham outside of the Fleetwood Mac framework.

Fleetwood made his intentions clear in a 2021 interview. “I would love to make music with Lindsey again,” he stated. He emphasized that such collaborations didn’t need to happen under the Fleetwood Mac name.

Fleetwood has maintained an optimistic outlook regarding reconciliation throughout the years. He acknowledges the complex relationship between Stevie Nicks and Buckingham while remaining hopeful about healing and closure within the group.

The new project with Carl Falk represents the first tangible step toward renewed musical collaboration between these influential musicians. This development could pave the way for future creative projects.
