Sammy Hagar Responds To A Fan’s Claim That He Was Too Hungover To Complete A Live Show

Former Van Halen and current the Circle frontman Sammy Hagar shared a post on his official Instagram page revealing footage from his annual Birthday Bash. While celebrating this year’s show, a fan commented under the post implying that the musician left the stage 30 minutes early than written on the tickets due to being hungover. According to Hagar, the audience got more than their money’s worth even though the show lasted for an hour and 35 minutes.

For those of you who may not know by now, Sammy Hagar has been preparing himself and his band, the Circle, for his annual Birthday Bash which usually takes place in his famous nightclub, Cabo Wabo with numerous other rockers. Last year, on the other hand, the show took place at the shores of Catalina Island, CA, on October 17, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After the conclusion of this year’s highly anticipated Birthday Bash, the Red Rocker shared a post on his official Instagram page of backstage and on-stage videos. While celebrating this year’s show, Hagar revealed that to this day, he had to do his Birthday Bash outside of Cabo Wabo only four times and exclaimed that he hopes to never perform anywhere else again.

In his Instagram post, Hagar captioned:

“In 31 years we’ve only had to move the birthday bash from Cabo 4 times – twice due to hurricanes. now 2 in a row due to Covid. Let’s make number 4 the magic number. The bash can survive anything, we’ll make it the best one ever!

After seeing the special footage shared by Sammy Hagar himself, a fan who attended the annual Birthday Bash left a comment under the Instagram post stating that the concert was supposed to start at 8 p.m. and end at 10 pm. However, the fan claimed that the musician left the stage half-hour early. In order to make sure their suspicions were correct, that fan asked Hagar if he was too hungover from the concert the night before.

The fan commented under the post:

“90-minute concert in aurora no encore what gives Sammy ticket said 8 til 10 pm over at 9:30 just wondering if you were hungover from the concert the night before. Don’t get me wrong, the concert was nice but it wasn’t a party, like do the set and get out. Come back to St. Louis to have a party.”

In order to correct the mistake, the Circle frontman almost immediately left a comment, replying to that fan’s claims. Apparently, the band performed for an hour and 35 minutes since he didn’t leave the stage for a break. According to the rocker, the band members their best, and despite being shorter than it was stated on the tickets, the audience received a marvelous show that was worth more than their money.

Sammy Hagar’s response in the comments section follows:

“Whoa whoa whoa. We played for an hour and thirty-five minutes. We don’t have a setlist that’s etched in stone and we don’t do traditional encores, ever anywhere! I don’t leave the stage and come back because that’s bullshit and you know it, but we gave it everything we got, and I felt like that was a great show from the bottom of my heart.

To come back and do more? It could’ve been a letdown? Not sure? But if you have seen us before you know that’s the way we do it sometimes we play longer sometimes we play shorter but no matter what it is I feel everyone gets more than their money’s worth. Just saying.”
